Our Team

With headquarters in California's idyllic Sonoma Valley, Avenir's executive management team is comprised of international industry veterans with an unparalleled depth and breadth of knowledge:

Nir Margalit is CEO and President at Avenir. A graduate of the Cornell Hotel School and Georgetown University Law School, Nir was previously an executive and the chief counsel at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, Unison Healthcare, Best Western International and the holding company for Las Vegas Sands.

Jill Conklin, Acting Consultant, Strategic Relations Development, Marketing. Jill has a diversified culinary history with extensive experience in restaurant operations, corporate business development, and strategy for new concept and market integration. Jill previously led culinary operations for Walter’s Restaurants, US sales/marketing for Winston Industries and as food/science education consultant in food safety and child nutrition initiatives.

Kyle Connaughton is Vice President of Food Production. Kyle is a Michelin-Rated Chef and Sous Vide technical specialist. He previously worked as Culinary Director of Chipotle.

Jeffery Blake is Director of Logistics and Distribution (in transition). He has over 20 years of experience in global logistics and distribution. He was previously responsible for food and supply logistics and distribution for ACCL’s camps in Afghanistan.

Martin Lunacek is Director of Information Technology. Martin studied Computer Engineering at UC Davis and has over fifteen years' of experience implementing and administrating system solutions in diverse sectors of business. A veteran of several technology startups, he is the creator of Avenir’s intuitive technology interface.

Silvia Oppenheim is Director of Culinary Operations. Silvia has 9 years' of experience in operations, specializing in event planning and brand management for private estates, hotel and lodging industry. She is fluent in the languages of Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish.
